What can we customise?

Any Wihardja design in teak or suar wood can be changed in size, drawer layout or colour finish. We can also make a new design from your photo or sketch. Popular ranges to start from:

Size

Any custom size is possible. Tell us the width, depth and height you need, and measure the space where the piece will go, including doors and lift access.

Drawers, shelves and layout

You can change the drawer configuration of an existing design, for example to add a drawer or a shelf, or to swap drawers for open space.

Colour finish

Wihardja’s teak furniture comes in five shades: 5N (the lightest), 0N (Lite), 2N, 3N and 4N (almost black). Buying several pieces from us at the same time makes it easier to match their colours.

Wood: teak or suar

Teak has a naturally high oil content that makes it highly resistant to insects and rot, and our teak comes from government-run plantations in Java. Suar, also known as Samanea saman, is widely known as one of the most durable and affordable woods, and our suar range includes solid wood slabs that can be made into tables. Read what suar wood is. Copying a design you saw elsewhere

If you’ve seen a design you like, online or in a shop, send us pictures with dimensions. The more dimensions you give us, the more accurately we can make a piece inspired by it. For something no one has made before, send us a diagram with dimensions and we’ll work it out with you.

How custom furniture works at Wihardja (step by step)

1. Send your idea. Send a photo or sketch with dimensions (width, depth, height), plus the wood and colour you want, to info@wihardja.xyz or WhatsApp +65 6922 4588. You can also bring it to our MacPherson showroom.
2. Get a quote. We’ll come back to you with the price of your custom piece.
3. Confirm your order. Check your measurements, wood and colour carefully. Customised items can’t be returned, and orders can’t be cancelled once paid.
4. Made in our own factory. Your piece is made in Wihardja’s factory in Indonesia by our draftsmen and carpenters. This typically takes 60 to 90 days, and up to 120 days depending on the time of year. If your home isn’t ready, we can hold your order until your renovation is done.
5. Inspect before delivery (optional). You can inspect your order at our Yishun warehouse by appointment before it’s delivered. The warehouse isn’t a showroom and isn’t open to walk-ins.
6. Delivery. White Glove delivery. Most furniture is delivered fully assembled; bed frames and dining tables are not. If your furniture can’t go in the lift, a stair-carry fee of $20 per item per floor applies. We also deliver to Johor; WhatsApp us for the cross-border transport cost.
7. Aftercare. Wihardja’s FAQ page states that all Wihardja furniture comes with a 6-month structural warranty covering frames and joints. Wear and tear of fabric, faux leather and rattan isn’t covered.

Replacing old furniture? HDB residents can call their town council for free removal, and condo and landed homeowners can ask us for two furniture disposal contacts.

How long does custom furniture take, and what does it cost?

Lead time: custom pieces typically take 60 to 90 days, and up to 120 days depending on the time of year. Ready-stock designs are typically delivered within 2 to 3 weeks, if you need something sooner.

Price: a custom piece costs the price of the standard design plus a customisation charge. The charge depends on the additional materials and how complex the work is. Is custom furniture much more expensive than buying off the shelf?

Not necessarily. At Wihardja, a custom piece costs the price of the nearest standard design plus a customisation charge, which depends on the additional materials and how complex the change is. How long does custom furniture take in Singapore?

Can you copy a design I saw somewhere else?

We can make a piece inspired by a design you’ve seen, online or in a shop. Send us pictures with dimensions. The more dimensions you give us, the more accurately we can make it.

Do I need a drawing, or is a photo enough?
